You know you’re from Colorado When…

  • You live above 5,000 feet,
  • Sometimes Summer comes on Sunday and you can go fishing!
  • You'll wear flip flops every day of the year... regardless of temperature.
  • You have no accent at all, but can hear other people's.
  • It snows 5 inches and you don't expect school to be canceled.
  • "Humid" is over 25%.
  • Your sense of direction is: Toward the mountains and Away from the mountains.
  • You think that May is a totally normal month for a blizzard.
  • You buy your flowers to set out on Mother's day, but try and hold off planting them until just before Father's day.
  • You grew up planning your Halloween costumes around your coat.
  • You know what the Continental Divide is.
  • You don't think Coors beer is that big a deal.
  • You went to Casa Bonita as a kid, AND as an adult. You've gone off-roading in a vehicle that was never intended for such activities.
  • You always know the elevation of where you are.
  • You wake up to a beautiful, 80 degree day and you wonder if it's gonna snow later.
  • You don't care that some company renamed it, the Broncos still play at Mile High Stadium!!!
  • Every movie theater has military and student discounts.
  • You actually know that ** South Park ** is a real place, not just a dumb show on TV.
  • You know what a 'trust fund hippy' is, and you know its natural habitat is Boulder, Aspen, Crested Butte, Paonia, and Telluride.
  • You know you're talking to a fellow Coloradan when they call it "Elitches," not ""Six Flags."
  • A bear on your front porch doesn't bother you.
  • Your two favorite teams are the Broncos and whoever is beating the crap out of the Raiders.
  • When people back East tell you they have mountains in their state too, you just laugh.
  • You go anywhere else on the planet and the air feels "sticky" and you notice the sky is no longer blue.

  • Most drivers slam the brakes hard, scream andjust before sliding or running into the ditch.
  • Then there are Colorado Drivers,
    • They are likely to move from refles and say to the passengers," I going to..{laughing}'' and quickly switching into 4WD ,"Here, hold my beer & watch this...."

Meet Charlie!

I am a resident in Colorado 2 decades with a wife, 2 children, a 💔 now deceased dog and a 4-wheel drive vehicle.

In 1997; I relocated for work from southern California and the ever busy hustle-bustle of the freeways and crowds to Denver, Colorado and the serene quiet and beauty of the Rocky Mountains. We have lived here, raised two kids and flourished in this beautiful city.

Best of all, for the past 2 decades we have thrived and enjoyed the mountains and area.

Our quality of life has peaked and stayed incredible since our move.

~Moving to Denver was the very best decision we made as a married couple.

We are fortunate to have lived in the same house for nearly 20 years and we have loved each and every day we have been here!

Our children are now nearly grown and this news letter is part of the 2nd stage of our lives here in Denver. See below Stage Two and how the newsletter was created!

Stage 2

During the two decades of living here we have been employed in some permanent jobs, (really?) and several consulting jobs more recently.

Seemingly, jobs in Denver are so varied and plentiful there is a job for just about everything....sound familiar? Anyway, ...

...in my consulting, I have had the opportunity to travel the country for weeks or months at a time... and then .... return to Denver.

This website and my published emailed-newsletter are my effort to alter my course from consuming and providing plenty for my children...

...to now downsizing, urging my children understand our evolutionary changes during their upbringing and trying to the best of my ability to be a steward of our state and to encourage others to do the same!

I wish to continue the traditions here in Colorado to be stewards of our homes, communities, regions and country. This will be a beacon to others as a standard on these matters.
